Kathy Trager has been a board member for seven years and practiced law for 40 years, initially with a law firm and then the U.S. Attorney’s Office, SDNY.
Thereafter, she practiced as a publishing lawyer and retired in 2016 as the Executive Vice President, Secretary, and General Counsel of Penguin Random House. Kathy was a member of the Board of Directors of New Visions for Public Schools. Ms. Trager obtained a master’s degree as a reading specialist in 2022 and taught reading in an elementary school in Harlem. After retirement she has taught at NYU and volunteered at public schools in New York City and Miami. Ms. Trager holds a Bachelor of Arts from Tufts University, a JD from NYU, and a Master of Arts from Columbia.
