Bronx Arts Teachers in the Spotlight
Our team of diverse, talented teachers bring their knowledge, passion and spirit to the classroom every day.
Juan Pimentel is a musician with a passion for instruction. He has studied at some of the greatest music programs in the country, including Celia Cruz Bronx High School of Music, Berklee College of Music, and Hunter College, where he is completing a Master of Science in Music Education. He has been recognized by the National Society of Leadership and Success, and has performed with the likes of Hector Tricoche, Viti Ruiz, David Bisbal, and Eguie Castrillo.
Born and raised in Hunts Point to a first generation Dominican-American family, Mr. Pimentel takes pride in bringing the world of music to his community and his students.
DaShawn White is a dancer and educator. She holds a Master’s Degree in Dance Movement Therapy from the Pratt Institute, and a Master’s of Education from Touro College. She is the creator and facilitator of Dee Luh Da Kids, a toy drive and dance class benefitting the Bronx Children’s Aid Society.
Ms. White is a devoted mentor to her students, dedicated to empowering them through movement.
