Our Founder: Xanthe Jory
Xanthe Jory founded Bronx Charter School for the Arts in 2002. A Harvard-educated New York native who trained and taught in the South Bronx, Ms. Jory served as Bronx Arts Executive Director from 2003 – 2009. From 2011 – 2012, she was a partner with The New Teacher Initiative, developing strategies for educators around the country. For nine years, she served the New York Department of Education in various capacities ranging from New School development, to admissions and policy. Since 2021, she has served as the Chief Operating Officer of Achievement First Education Administration Program in Brooklyn.
